About
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, I have been privy to a wide range of visual experiences, ethnicities, languages, and cultures. This well-rounded knowledge of human diversity gives me a great insight on methods of persuasive communication. My art intends to communicate and stimulate the optical senses, as well as thought, while teaching and exemplifying with aesthetics in mind. I have a passion for all forms of art and my diversity is manifested in the mediums I use.
I have and strong background in fine Art, Media Design, and Anatomy and Physiology. I have a great passion for the educational aspect of Science illustration as a teaching and learning tool. My expertise in Art and Science assures that my images are accurate, realistic, and visually appealing.
Since 2008, I have been aggressively training and improving my artistic skills. As a current art student I have been trained in: figure drawing, painting, wax plaster and bronze molding, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Flash, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Dreamweaver, and final cut.
I received an Associates of Arts degree along with a Web Design Certificate from the Community College of Aurora. I have won awards in several arts shows, and my work has been featured on the Community College of Aurora’s schools website. I have also assisted in rebuilding the schools website. My work has also been featured at the City of Aurora Public Library.
I am currently attending the University of Colorado to obtain a BA in Scientific Media Design. This coursework includes 3D animation, and inter-media design, with an emphasis on scientific knowledge.
My present goals are to become a proficient Scientific Illustrator and eventually a Medical Illustrator. My desire is to bridge the gap of communication between medical and scientific professionals and the community at large by visually creating accurate and detailed illustrations of the ordinary life sciences around us all.
